Amazing Mexican place in cottage grove. We had a party of 8 and rolled in 15 minuets before- closing. The waiter couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Margarita was strong!

Don’t go here if you want to go to a bar. They discriminate against people that look younger. I’m 25 and I look pretty young. I’m often told I have a baby face which is fine but they told me I don’t look old enough to go into the bar and after I gave them my drivers license they said it doesn’t look like me. So you’re calling me a liar and expect me to buy your food or alcohol? No thanks

Amazing atmosphere, art, menu, and staff! My husband has claimed this as his favorite for Mexican food in town. We have been a few times and are never disappointed. The cleanliness, courteous service, and professionalism of the staff is top notch. Highly recommend. Photo is of Carne Asada platter. HUGE portions. Prepare yourself for some to take home.

This place is one of the most best places in all of Oregon to eat and enjoy real authentic Mexican food!! While the location may not be as convincing the place itself is very clean and has many beautiful details from the booths to the columns to crown molding to the paintings and to the overall decorations. Of course while the place looks great the food is amazingly good and tasty. They have a nice long menu with a great variety of choices. Definitely a place to come try!

Guys on shift didn't verify the right return amount and then when I asked for the return receipt information as shown in the example photo below they gave me a hard time and hung up in me cause I wasn't accepting not being given an answer.Anyone that works with credit card machines knows there's a Ref#. Batch & ID of some sort. What a shame cause the other 2 locations are amazing and we ended up getting our order filled with easy in Oak Grove.

You can't find a more friendly restaurant than this specific El Tapatio in Cottage Grove, Oregon! The waiters and waitresses regularly come to your table asking how your meal is, and regularly fill your drinks. They have a good attitude, and many of them are kind and engage in conversation. The food, particularly their Diablo Burrito(wet, spicy burrito), is outstanding, and the pre-meal chips & Guacamole are what they might be known for. This is easily the best restaurant in the Cottage Grove area, and the food won't put a dent in your wallet, even if you are a family of five. You can't ask for better food with a lower price tag.

This place is SO EXCELLENT. What a hidden gem. The food was Delicious. The environment was clean, spacious, not to mention BEAUTIFUL. All the walls were decorated, the seats were comfortable, the staff was friendly. Pablo was the best waiter. We loved him, even our kids! Best Mexicam restaurant I've been too, considering making monthly trips just to have more of their amazing food and drinks!

We encountered rude wait staff who was more interested in getting one of his regulars order in the moment that she sat down than taking my order. I was seated before the other person and I got tired of waiting my turn to order. I won't be back. If you're a regular here, then I'm sure you love to easy here; although I'm not sure how new customers would ever become regulars...

Lia asked if we liked our margaritas bitter or sweet and our preferences of mezcal or tequila. GREAT customer service!

Always, always love the carne asada. Service is friendly, food hot and quick. Ask for the green salsa is you want a little more kick.

House made corn tortillas, really fresh ingredients and friendly staff. The refried beans are excellent, and the portion sizes usually mean getting two meals out of one dish.

I was sadly disappointed in our meal. The wait service was great. But was not impressed with the meal at all. We will not be back. I ordered a grilled chicken salad in a tortilla bowl. Thank goodness for the tortilla bowl it was something I could eat. My bowl was crammed full clear to the top with iceberg lettuce that's it. There maybe was one very small chicken breast cut up. I asked for blue cheese dressing and they didn't have any.

The best Mexican restaurant I ever tried, I was here yesterday and I had to come back with my family today and they like it.

Ordered 2 crunchy tacos and 2 soft tacos couldn't pick any up and eat like every other taco I've ever had, even in Mexico. I consider this slop!

Went here on valentine's day and there was a huge line. Surprisingly they got us in within about 20 mins. The food was AMAZING and service was perfect. I'll definitely be going back.

order the taco salad very disappointed will never go back asked for everything in the taco salad but no meat and have the grilled veggies and it. Asked if there would be beans and rice and the only beings was to keep the shell attached to the plate. No cheese no rice as the server said yes there will be beans and rice in it. There was two of us they charged us for extra salsa and chips they never said that it would cost extra. Will Never Go Back. They hiked up the price also at a tyme when people are out of work. I say no stars at all but in order to post I had to do one star

The staff is awesome. Pablo is a great server. If you want to get the best out of your experience, ask for him. The portions are generous, especially for the prices and they didnt skimp on quality or flavor. Definitely recommend. I'll be back for their Taco Tuesday special.

Why do I love this place? First, you have to understand that I am not a published, on the media circuit food critic. But I do know what I like, and it usually runs in the vein of good, tasty food for a fair price. That said, if you find yourself within a hundred miles of Cottage Grove Oregon, you absolutely must go to El Tapatio Mexican restaurant to enjoy some of the finest Mexican food served in a wonderful setting by superb, professional staff. Trust me, it will be well worth the time and price of gas to travel the 100 miles. I'm hungry just thinking of it. Can not say enough about this sterling restaurant!!

The food here is awesome and the staff is amazing. They give you chips, beans and salsa first thing when you are seated and you literally never run out of chips, beans, or salsa the entire time you're there. The staff is very attentive. The place is pretty large and always has a lot of people there, but I've still never had to wait to be seated and the food still comes pretty quickly, despite the amount of people that are usually there. I highly recommend this place! 😊 They definitely don't go light on the alcohol in their mixed drinks either! 😉

Absolutely amazing friendly service and great food too. Very open space and booths have lots of room. They have big food portions here. We both had the combination plate with choice of our own items. I had a shredded beef taco and avocado torta (no meat). The chips and salsa and beans are so tasty. We always end up filling up a little more than we should on it before our meal but its so good.

Done with this place. Terrible customer service. I live in town and have been eating there twice a week for some time now. Living less than a mile from the restaurant I usually order my food to go and typically have a great dinner. Lately the service and the food have taken a continuous down hill slide. For example: I got my dinner tonight ice cold. The cheese on the beans was still in graded form, it hadn’t even melted. My mushrooms were missing along with my lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. When I called the restaurant the young lady copped and attitude and told me “I don’t know what to tell you”. How about an apology and assurance that it won’t happen again? There are several ways to handle this but telling the customer they’re wrong is not one of them.

I was disappointed. Not great. Didn't realize tamales here didn't have meat in them. Servers were pleasant, but not someplace I would return to.

I thought the food was ok until I found a big piece of packaging plastic in the middle of my enchilada.

Great food, good portions, freindley staff, one critique drink and complementary chip refill missed on the service end. Other than that I highly recommend!
